What Parents Say
We started our little one went she was 6 months. She absolutely loves the lessons and gets so excited when waiting to get into the pool. And we can confidently say Mary’s is amazing; her knowledge, advices and care on swimming and aquatic safety is exceptional.
I feel more confident having him in the pool knowing he has the skills to be safe. Swimsafe was the best investment I have made in my son.
My heart was settled also as she received very good care in the water by Mary and was always comfortable with her. The pool water and area are heated also providing a conducive environment during chilly weather.
We no longer worry so much when the children are near the swimming pools and they are now excited about learning more and becoming proficient swimmers, because they have learned to enjoy the water.
Even tho my daughter was a screamer and scared at the beginning…. she came around to becoming confident and developing a great bond with Mary… and an understanding of what was trying to be accomplished.
Every child will manage water differently, some will cry and some won’t, but ultimately every child learns how to manage water, and that is an incredible skill.
Thank you so much for the gift of Swim Safe.
Thank you to Swim Safe for giving MJ more confidence in the water!
Mary’s professionalism, and her gentle way with children, has given my daughter confidence, the passion for swimming, and most importantly, the techniques required to save herself if the need arises. I cannot recommend Mary and Swimsafe enough.
The SwimSafe program is brilliant. It adapts to the need of each child. With 1-on-1 instruction from Mary, my children both got personalized daily sessions that adapted to the pace with which they each learned. My oldest did the program at 2.5 years. He can swim across the pool by himself now and he enjoys it thoroughly! He still often asks to go swimming with Mary. My youngest did the program at 6 months and can now easily float and turn over into the float by herself. Both of them are extremely comfortable in the water and I now have the confidence that they will be safe as well.
Mary was so patient with her and always kept us in the loop of Sienna’s progress which made us feel really involved with her learning. Having trust in the process and faith in Mary is all you need to provide your child with such an important life skill that also provides a solid foundation into stroke swimming that your child can then progress into. I would like to thank Mary for giving Sienna this opportunity and would highly recommend this to all parents!”
To cut a long story short, I’m really glad that we enrolled for it. The program imparts life saving skills to the little ones and it was an eye opener for me. Coach Mary (as our daughter calls her) is really patient with the children and a really good coach. She takes the time to explain all the stages and the various emotions that the children undergo and that constant communication really helps to keep one’s mind at ease. She even takes the time to teach the parents on how to continue molding the little ones after the program is over to ensure that the skills learnt are nurtured as the child grows.
I would recommend the program to anyone who would like to impart this very important life skill to their child. You never know if they will even need the skills in future.
Our Mia was 2 years and we had just moved to a new home which had a swimming pool in the compound plus there was a pool at her Grandparents home and we were concerned about water safety.
The course was the best decision that we made for her! Mia not only learnt to float and kick in record time – it also gave us peace of mind that she would know what to do in an emergency.
What we didn’t count for was the amount of confidence in the water Swimsafe gave Mia even when we went on holiday. She was jumping and playing in the water and we literally had to drag her out of the water each day .Lol.
Thank you Teacher Mary!
Swim Safe is a commitment. From the child, parent and Mary. It’s not just about splashing in the water but about learning water safety skills. And I say it’s a commitment from all three parties because it isn’t always easy. Your child will no doubt cry at some point and that’s never easy. However, Mary is an excellent teacher and a calming influence on the kids (and parents!). You can be assured that your child is in safe and nurturing hands when he or she is with Mary. Mary is very patient with the kids and can quickly assess what their individual needs are and she adapts her style based on this. It was watching Mary with my daughter that gave me such confidence in the process. And as a result, Mia has gained more confidence in the water and developed excellent safety skills.
My daughter (3 yrs) who’d been observing this from the side line refused to enter the pool for a swimming lesson, despite her resistance I tried for a couple of lessons, but again decided it wasn’t worth the anxiety, stress and tears it was causing them.
Several months later I signed up to Mary’s WaterSafe course which had come highly recommended to me. From the outset they warmed to Mary and Brendan, who were both very gentle, patient and encouraging towards them. In less than a week I could see the kids fully trusted them; I couldn’t believe their change in attitude and new found passion for swimming. From that point it was onward and upwards for them.
I watched every lesson, and was amazed at the transformation of my children’s abilities and confidence in water during the 4 week program. I find myself more relaxed knowing that are armed with this important life skill should they find themselves in trouble in deep water.
The program is intensive by design, but delivers incredible results in just 4 weeks. I couldn’t have made a better choice for my children. I would highly recommend Mary’s WaterSafe course to anyone.
By the end of the course we could not have hoped for a better result. We watched Ariana go from bobbing in the water and crying on week 1 to genuinely learning to float and turnover by the end of week 6! It was a joy to watch Mary work with our daughter and in addition to being a great teacher she always treated Ariana with patience, kindness and individuality. Most importantly, we always felt like our daughter was in safe hands with Mary. As parents we feel this is the greatest gift we can give Ariana at such an early age.
The program being one-on-one and only for 10 minutes is actually quite beneficial to the child, and it becomes more personal. My daughter felt safe and comfortable with Mary. She worked with my daughter at her own pace – there was no pushing or forcing her to do something she didn’t want to do. The fact that she got to see Mary almost every day helped to create and strengthen the trust between child and teacher. This is crucial – building and maintaining trust.
Mary’s soft voice, patience and calmness, coupled with her willingness to cater the program to your child’s needs, shows her dedication to teach with mindfulness and gentleness. I highly recommend Mary and cannot wait for her to teach my 2-year-old son in the near future!
